About Team FiftyFifty

Team FiftyFifty is one of the teams contending in the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2009 Competition. With their software solution Equitopia, Team FiftyFifty strives to help reach Millenium Goals 1 and 8 reducing Poverty and Hunger by use of global Partnership and networking.

Team FiftyFifty is contending in the Microsoft Imagine Cup firstly because they want to win the contest and deploy Equitopia worldwide together with Microsofts leading researchers and developers. However the Imagine Cup is not just a contest to this projectteam, the team also uses this assigment as a graduation project for the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, to get their Bachelor Degree.

The name 'FiftyFifty' refers to some equally divided differences within the team. For starters, the team consists of two guys (Machiel and Patrick) and two girls (Laura and Loes). But the team is also equally divided in left-handed and right-handed people. Therefore making it an ideal combination of both creative and logical minds, solving global issues from all angles.
